On what was a weekend off from his normal racing duties James
Winslow took a clean sweep of 2 pole positions, 2 race wins, 2 fastest
laps and a new lap record in a 1977 Lola T440 at the fabulous Road
America Circuit, Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
Winslow driving the
recently restored Lola T440 gained some valuable experience of one of
America’s best road racing circuits as he joined the 35 car Vintage
Formula Ford field.
Driving for Team owner Samuel Mudd of Team
Effort Racing, Winslow learnt the track and car quickly and went on to
qualifying on Pole Position for both races, Winslow then took two
dominant victories setting fastest laps in both races along the way.
Winslow
commented ‘It’s fantastic to drive such a great little car around such
a fantastic circuit, Formula ford has been such a great formula for so
many years and I just love to drive these cars’.
‘The Lola is
such a good looking car and I enjoy sliding the little Lola around, and
at such a great track and event is a real treat, I must thank Samuel
Mudd for asking me to drive for them this weekend’ Winslow said.
Winslow
will be back in action at the Petit Lemans event in the Formula
Atlantic Championship when it resumes at Road Atlanta, Atlanta, Georgia
this 23rd-26th September. |
